The tone is not a million miles different from my USA standard, but it is definitely sweeter. I imagine the tone will change with age as the cellulose lets the wood breathe. Hi Nick It is really beautiful, just put some new 35-95 on! The neck is superb, and I found that 1989 is a good year for that bird's eye, every one I have seen from 1989 is like that!! This 1989 is also much lighter (ash?) than my previous 2000 and will NOT be on sale for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time, if ever! Probably the best or one of the best I have ever had, thanx!! C
